many ice cream business owners use cold plates. those that use invertors or generators come in at night and plug their freezers into a regular electric outlet. freezer plugs up just like cold plate at night. with invertor if you have the right size batteries and the right amount you dont have to keep the truck running the whole time. but make sure the batteries running your invertor isnt your main battery that runs your truck/van engine. and many put their batteries on charge at night when their day is over.
